EVELYN F. ROSS With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear Nan on July 27, 2007 at Kelowna General Hospital, her daughter by her side. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter on August 1, 1975. She will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter Judy (Bill) MacKenzie, her two grandchildren, Kelly (Chad) Scott, Kevin (Lynnette) MacKenzie, and Ethan and Emma who brought her so much joy in the last few years. Family meant everything to her and she devoted her life to caring for and loving them with all her heart. She took great pride in all their accomplishments and loved the times spent with her family the most. She always put others before herself, made sure we all had a good supply of baking, and enjoyed a good discussion about current affairs with her friends. Evelyn was born in Kelwood, Manitoba on January 5, 1917, the youngest of five children. She was predeceased by her brothers, Cliff and Emerson Ennis, and sisters Margaret Gowan and Anne Hodge. She will be missed as well by her nephew Jeff Hodge (Barb and Aynsley) of Winnipeg and niece Sheila Youngson (Keith and Carly) of Kelowna who have remained very close. She moved to Winnipeg at an early age and lived there her entire life until moving to Kelowna in 1998 to be closer to her family. She moved to Hawthorne Park last year, where she has made many new friends and been lovingly cared for by the staff and workers of Community Care. Our thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who helped and supported her, enabling her to remain independent until the end. Your kindness will not be forgotten. No service by request. Evelyn's ashes will be buried at a later date with her husband in Winnipeg. No flowers please, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • To Judy and Bill. My brother Garry and I, myself living in Summerland, we reminiscing this evening and looking at pictures which included Judy when we were very young. Garry recalled your Mum living in Kelowna, so in searching names we see of your Mum's passing away several years ago. We are sorry to hear this, and can let you know that our Mum and Dad, Pat and Pearl have also passed away in very recent years. It is too bad we have not connected sooner, and if willing, we would love to re-connect at some time. If you would like to connect at some point, just drop me an e-mail. Some great memories of you and your parents. Bill and Garry. - Posted by: Bill Waylett (Friend) on: Sep 07, 2015
